Hello Riders and Crew!
Thank you so much for all of your hard work and dedication for Ride for AIDS Chicago and making a difference for those impacted by HIV/AIDS in the Chicago area. I hope you are now rested and looking back at this amazing journey with a true sense of achievement.
Over the past several months, you have trained countless hours and been a spokesperson for the ride as you asked your friends, coworkers, family members and colleagues to donate to your participation in the Ride. Your passion has been displayed in both the financial return to Ride for AIDS Chicago beneficiaries and in the Ride itself this past weekend. Just a few months back, did you think you would be completing a double century bike ride that raised nearly $300,000 for HIV/AIDS? Well, you did it!
I know many of you have a couple questions on your mind so I wish to answer them now.
Many of you have written and called to ask how John is doing. I am relieved to tell you that John is doing very well. I spoke to him yesterday and he is resting, preparing for surgery on Friday. If you wish to send him get well wishes, he would very much appreciate it.

Some of you want to know if your personal fundraising pages are still active. You may keep directing your donors to your page until July 31st. Also, any corporate matching forms must be received by July 31 to count toward your personal fundraising goal. In the past two days we have received more than $6,000 in online donations, including two each for $1,000! Go Riders! Donations received the morning of the ride and the days prior should be all online the the next two days. Be sure to thank your donors! You can easily download your donors contact information by logging into your Events.org account and selecting the “View Donations Spreadsheet” tab at the top left of the screen. Let them know how remarkable your experience was and how their support truly IS making a difference in the fight against AIDS.
We all definitely want to hear what you thought about Ride for AIDS Chicago. In the next few days you will be receiving a link to an online survey. I hope you will take a few moments and let us know how your experience was and how we can make the ride even better next year.
A huge thank you to Chad Myer for capturing the weekend on film! He has shots of all of us and is compiling a photo disc for us that will be available shortly.
Are you feeling alone without your fellow Riders and Crew members? Let’s get together and share our triumphs! On Sunday, August 1, let’s meet up at the Sofo-T’s-Glenwood T-Dance at 5025 N Clark. We can dance and have a great time, while continuing to support TPAN as a percentage of the day goes to TPAN. Let’s plan on a RFAC reunion 5-7pm, as the event goes from 3-11pm.
We miss seeing you already! Thank you again for your love, time and generosity of spirit.
Sincerely,
Jeff Allen
